Who We Are
How Anjung Code Came to Be
Anjung Code was founded in Petaling Jaya by a small group of engineers who had spent years watching people burn out in fast-paced tech bootcamps. They believed there was a better way — one that kept the material rigorous but gave each learner room to actually absorb it.
The name "anjung" comes from the Malay word for a sheltered porch — a space where conversations happen unhurriedly, where there is light without glare. That image stayed with us as we designed the first programme.
Since 2021, we have run cohorts in Python fundamentals, machine learning, and deep learning for learners from Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Johor Bahru, and further afield. Every cohort has remained small by choice. Every project review is written by a person, not a rubric.

What We Are Here to Do
Our aim is straightforward: help people in Malaysia develop real competence in AI and machine learning, at a pace that respects how learning actually works. We are not selling speed or credentials. We are offering a structured, supported study environment where each idea has space to land before the next one arrives.
We believe that the best kind of technical education feels more like a well-curated gallery than a fire hose. Each exhibit — each concept — is framed clearly, placed with intention, and accompanied by someone who can answer your questions.

Ahmad Hafiz Roslan
Lead Instructor · AI & ML
Ahmad designed the Machine Learning Track after six years building data pipelines for financial institutions in Kuala Lumpur. He runs the weekly clinics and reviews every project personally.
Nurul Liyana Zainudin
Curriculum Lead
Nurul wrote the AI Foundations curriculum with newcomers in mind, drawing on her background in educational design and four years teaching Python at a Selangor technology centre.
Ravi Kumar Selvaraj
Deep Learning Instructor
Ravi leads the Deep Learning Gallery, specialising in neural network architectures and model deployment. He holds an MSc in Computer Vision from Universiti Malaya and supervises all capstone projects.

Structured Curriculum Review
Every programme undergoes a full content review before each new cohort to ensure accuracy, relevance, and clarity.
Written Project Feedback
All project submissions receive detailed written feedback from a qualified instructor — not automated scoring.
Data Privacy Compliance
Learner data is handled in accordance with Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act 2010. We collect only what is needed.
Cohort Size Limits
We cap enrolment deliberately so each learner receives genuine attention during live sessions and office hours.
Post-Cohort Surveys
Every cohort ends with a structured feedback survey. Responses directly inform changes to the next iteration.
Instructor Credentials
All instructors hold relevant academic or industry qualifications and maintain active involvement in the field they teach.
Our Approach
AI Education That Respects How People Learn
At Anjung Code, we design each programme around how learning actually works, not how quickly it can be delivered. The field of artificial intelligence is rich and layered — Python, data handling, statistical thinking, model selection, training dynamics, deployment — and trying to absorb all of it in rapid succession tends to produce surface familiarity rather than genuine understanding.
Our three tracks move through this landscape at a deliberate pace. The AI Foundations programme introduces Python and core data concepts over six weeks, with a weekly question clinic where nothing is too basic to ask. The Machine Learning Track builds on that foundation over ten weeks, moving from data preparation through model training and evaluation, with two full projects along the way. The Deep Learning Gallery covers architectures, training methods, and real deployment over thirteen weeks, with a capstone that each learner builds from concept to working model.
We work with learners from across Malaysia — software engineers who want to move into ML roles, analysts who want to work more directly with models, recent graduates building their technical depth, and professionals making a considered mid-career change. What they share is a preference for understanding over speed, and a desire for feedback that actually helps them improve.
Being based in Petaling Jaya means we operate in Malaysian time, hold sessions at hours that fit local schedules, and keep pricing in ringgit. We are not a platform with thousands of users. We are a school with small cohorts and people who know your name.
